Hi there!
In the last months I've meet wonderful people here in the Bronx.
I love challenges and trying new things, so when I was asked to paint a skate deck I just jumped on it!
Here it is, my first one. It will be exhibited at Heaven Bound 7 Skate Shop and soon I will be finishing more. So stay tuned!!!

My last painting is Oyá, another Orisha from the Yoruba Religion. She loves purple, red and has the lightning and fire power like her first husband Changó. Gold hair, like fire, holding the keys of the dead people.

If you want an Orisha, I painte them only by commission. You can find me here laura@lauralvarez.com and I'll give you prizes!

Lately I've been painting in a larger format than usual. Maybe because I have a nice studio that make it easier.
I'm painting the Yoruba Santos from my own point of view. They all have different attributes and specific colors, amazing histories behind each of them.
Here yo have Changó, Ochun and Yemayá.

24x36" Acrylic on canvas, silver/gold leaf.

Commissioned paintings available upon request.
