Niiiiiiice! I know its hard to photograph paintings (I can tell by the 2 versions of the images)... this is best seen live! The idea for the worm world does open up lots of images. At first rocket's background threw me a bit, then I realized its a painting... the light hits it different every time when you click. I'm sure I'll bump into that. I do love the expressions on their faces, and your style, which I have no name in my brain for, is very cool. On par with your beautiful work. If it were me, I'd probably over work it, and give it more definite outlines, but there is a point where you have to stop, and I think its been captured the way you have it. As it is, it is great stuff! (It does ring with some of my influences... which I don't know how to express in words... yet) Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for your words Jose. I used to overwork all my paintings and my designs or illos. But as I started a new stage on my life I wanted to start working in a different way. If you see my last paintings http://www.lauralvarez.com/1/category/6x6%20gallery/1.html I think I shouldn't have worked that much on them. Or maybe It's just that I want to change and start a fresher style on my paintings, bringing it closer to my illustrations. Hi Eric! The bottom one is an experiment I did with chinesse inks I bought there this summer. I love the dirty colors you can get with them. Not much time to think and not really accurate lines. Thanks for your comment!
