#Inktober is back. This is the third year I commit to create a drawing a day during October to celebrate Halloween, my favorite holiday of the year. Plenty os skulls, owls, bats, cats and witches will be coming to my Instagram and FaceBook. You can follow me, that's be the best way to be posted!
It's not a secret I am fascinated by scary things, my way of coping with situations I worry about or I try to understand, is drawing about it. If you want to join me in this adventure, use the hashtag #DrawOct, I'll find them and repost your illustrations!
Have a terrific October!!
Two years ago I had the pleasure of being part of Women in Comics, the first exhibition of that kind in The Bronx. This August, we bring you the second part. Lots of artists, illustrations, comics and workshops will happen during this month at Poe Park Visitor Center.
I would like to invite everyone to the opening Saturday, August 1st, at 2640 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY. From 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. we will be enjoying the company of many female illustrators, writers, producers, film makers, artists, and we will have a panel discussion about the situation of the women in comics.
Celebrate the Bronx's 100th anniversary with three pedestrian Sundays on the Grand Concourse between 165th and 167th Streets.
The center lanes will be closed to cars and open to a world of fun, with free music, activities and programs hosted by art/cultural, civic, health organizations and artists.
I will have a table with new stuff inside The Bronx Museum this next Sunday, August 3rd, and I will also be volunteering teaching an art workshop outside... so COME AND ENJOY!!!
Last Friday I went to my friend's apartment. We ate, I made sangria, and she wanted me to draw something in her empty walls. She saw a sketch I just finished and said that was what she wanted.
So I opened my sharpies and started drawing.
I love making art. I think it's one of the things that gives me strength and keeps me calm. In my darkest and shiniest moments I feel better just scribbling on a coaster. This time I had a whole wall.
Thank you Skye. You are awesome.
