This has been a very busy summer; one of the things I have done is organizing a live painting event at Boogie on the Boulevard with BxArts Factory and HeavenBound7 Sk8 Shop. Henry, the owner of the store, repurposed about 20 old skate decks sanded them and prep them to be painted. Many artists came out that day to encourage the community to be healthy and to show how every artist has a process and creativity is everywhere!
Thanks to Alex Fernandez, Alexis Mendoza, Elizabeth Ortiz, Giannina Gutierrez, Karen Pedrosa, Laura Alvarez, Leo Mojica, Louis Nieves, Natalia Zamparini, Shak Castillo, Steven McKenzie, Vanezza Cruz, Xavier Figueroa, and Yazmeen Collazo for your artistry and commitment! Because you all did an awesome job.
This week's illustration Friday word is train, and here you have my take on it.
Skating on a flying 6 train.
Hi there, a few months ago I started this project with Tony Colón (SST3) and now it's as real, as real as a magical unicorn can get in Laura's world. So, here you have, a brand new website, and a brand new Etsy page, where you can buy our creations.
This is just the beginning of the spring/summer collection, with 5 more designs to be released very soon. So make sure you get the designs you like before it's too late!!!
In the last months I've meet wonderful people here in the Bronx.
I love challenges and trying new things, so when I was asked to paint a skate deck I just jumped on it!
Here it is, my first one. It will be exhibited at Heaven Bound 7 Skate Shop and soon I will be finishing more. So stay tuned!!!
