Next Saturday July 19th I will be part of the exhibition at The Brick House Gallery.
The House of Spoof is proud to present the 4th Annual Summer Show “Through the Frame” which will take place on July 19th to August 8th 2014 at The Brickhouse Gallery, 1391 Lafayette Ave. Admission is FREE.
“Through the Frame” show features 17 artists from New York City, to as far away as France and the Netherlands. This group exhibit represents not only the literal term of “framing” the work, but interprets the frame as a structure itself, to observe and highlight. This year’s show reflects on the subtle nuances of life and art and uses everyday references to detail or break apart how life itself can be framed as a piece of artwork. The show analyzes social and cultural foundations, the sublime and dreams, time and space, a state of mind and the uncanny. The work also plays around with how information about taboos and the mundane is framed through various mediums such as sculpture, video and graphics. Featuring artists are Luz Ramos, Lizzy Alejandro, Dovile Aleksandraviciute, Christian Coronel, Tyrone Copeland, Alexander Hoglund, Adrien de Moines, Cinnamon Willis, Juliet Aaltonen, Ignacio Soltero, Gianni Sanchez, Luis Melendez, Angelica Hatzialexandrou, Stephan Blumenschein, Laura Alvarez and Nancy Benignus.
