Liquid Gold is a project born in my mind three years ago, coinciding with the birth of my oldest daughter. This initiative aims to shed light on the often unseen labor involved in breastfeeding, which can amount to as much as 1,800 hours annually—equivalent to a full-time job. This includes nursing, pumping, cleaning equipment, and managing the mental load of maintaining an adequate milk supply. By addressing this "invisible labor," the project intends to elevate breastfeeding mothers, acknowledging their commitment to their children and advocating for the recognition and support they deserve, especially in a climate where women's rights are increasingly under threat.

The project seeks to highlight the experiences of mothers currently breastfeeding through a series of artistic and community-driven efforts. The first step will involve an open call to recruit at least 10 breastfeeding mothers. Participants will be photographed and interviewed to share their personal insights.
