I just wanted to say thank you to everyone that believed in this project and in me. We made it! We are fully funded and this book will be published!! We still have 15 days ahead of us, so now we need to make it to the stretch goal. If we make it to $10,000 I will do a limited edition of books in Spanish. I am really looking forward this, let's make it possible!   "Eggie's Adventures at Poe Cottage" A Picture BookWith this picture book, children will learn about perseverance while discovering the Museum of Edgar Allan Poe located in the Bronx, NY. The story is about a little squirrel named Eggie who is quite interested in the history of the cottage. He learns that his great grandfather was actually Edgar Allan Poe's best friend, which makes him want to be a helper to Neil, who is the caretaker of the house. Instead of helping, he keeps getting into trouble; until the day when Neil goes to the city and completely forgets he had a group of children coming to visit the cottage. Eggie steps up, and of course, saves the day! Thus the story is about not only the history of the cottage, but persistence as well; because if we don't get it right the first time, that doesn't mean it won't end up well, especially if we try something different... "Eggie’s Adventures at Poe Cottage" is a precious little picture book that seeks to encourage curiosity about the Edgar Allan Poe Museum and the famous writer and poet who lived in the borough of the Bronx around the mid-19th century. I think it is very important to cultivate a sense of pride about our neighborhoods. The Edgar Allan Poe Museum is a staple for tourists, but for the local population it is just a little landmark cottage at the edge of Poe Park. The goal of this book is to engage the imaginations of locals and tourists alike about the history of Edgar Allan Poe and the Edgar Allan Poe Museum.
