Last October, like I've done for the past few years, I commited to create one drawing a day during Inktober. This year I wanted to do something different, and instead of using traditional inking tools, I decided to go with my iPad and Procreate. As a twist, I combined prompts from two different lists: TheyDraw and Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. This past year, besides self-publishing my first children's book, I decided I wanted to push harder into my illustrator career. Networking, learning and mingling with other illustrators is something important. So far it has been a nice road, I am hoping to continue bettering my style, improving my portfolio and with that, my chances to make it!
My favorite time of the year is almost here and this year I am joining #inktober (in my own way) so I will be drawing one "scary" illustration a day until Halloween. At @inktober you can find the list of words for each day. @Jakeparker started it in 2009 and I love the idea. Who is going to do it with me? You can tag #drawOct16 and I'll find you!
Let's do this! Follow me on instagram @Bigeyesworld and Facebook to see the progress!
#Inktober is back. This is the third year I commit to create a drawing a day during October to celebrate Halloween, my favorite holiday of the year. Plenty os skulls, owls, bats, cats and witches will be coming to my Instagram and FaceBook. You can follow me, that's be the best way to be posted! It's not a secret I am fascinated by scary things, my way of coping with situations I worry about or I try to understand, is drawing about it. If you want to join me in this adventure, use the hashtag #DrawOct, I'll find them and repost your illustrations! Have a terrific October!! New section on my website where you can see all the #DrawscaryOct illustrations I made. If you are interested in purchasing any originals, email me to see it I still have it.
All drawings were made on acid free paper with black and gray ink. I've been posting one spooky drawing a day during this month on a challenge I proposed to myself.
If you want to get one... or more of those ORIGINAL ILLUSTRATIONS, I'll have them available this Saturday November 2nd. Last week I was invited to sell at Baron Ambrosia's event at Andrew Freedman Home (1125 Grand Concourse, Bronx, New York 10452) from 6 to 10pm, together with other artists. And I decided that that was the perfect place to sell them all. This will be the world premiere of our film 'Baron Ambrosia is Dead'. This event is free and open to the public. 6:00 PM Market of Mysteries will open (CASH) 7:00 PM Black U.N. UN Concert 7:45 PM Vodou blessing 8:00 PM Film Screening 9:45 PM Grandmaster Mele Mel Concert Outdoor Event. Dress Warm. Bring blankets & beach chairs. Families welcome. Last weekend and this coming weekend I'm part of the crew working at the Spooky nights of the New York Botanical Garden. My friend Lucrecia Novoa asked me if I wanted to wear one of her creations. How would I resist??? I think she is a magnificent artist that lives and breathes art. Her pieces are full of life, mystery and creativity. It's a pleasure to be sharing my art and my time with four beautiful women in a wonderful place like the Botanical Garden.
I just uploaded several wallpapers that you can download for youi iPad, iPhone, BBR or computer.
Hope you like them... Let's celebrate my favorite time of the year... HALLOWEEN!! |
