Hello all. I finally finished my 100 drawings a day, I even made 102 without realizing. I created a short video to show you all the quick sketches together. It has been an interesting project, when during the 3 to 4 minutes that it took me to draw each plant I wasn't thinking of anything, I was just letting the brush flow and create those pseudo plants. For me it is kind of a meditation moment when I only focus on the ink flowing and mixing with the water. The 5 sketchbooks will be part of a show at the Jamaica Center for Arts and Learning called: Process → Project: What Comes Out of Our Sketchbooks The exhibition will have a wide variety of artists and will be on view from February 4 to March 20, 2021. I will be posting more information when I have it. So excited for this opportunity! I've always liked plants, I work for NYC Parks and still I am a terrible plant care taker. I am never sure if what I am doing is good or not, and I end up doing something wrong (or not doing anything at all) and they end up dying. I decided to start doing one drawing a day (quick drawing) with ink, I make up plants and flowers, record them on video (and post on Tik Tok) and take a picture for Instagram. I have several ideas of what to create with the plants once I am done... I will keep you posted!! Hola! I just started a Tik-Tok. I had an account for a while, but I wasn't sure what to upload. I am not much of a dancer on camera, so I decided to go with what I do best. Drawing. I have a deep love for Nature, but I have not gotten a green thumb, so I started the #greenthumbproject with the idea of drawing a (fake, invented) flower/plant a day for 100 days. Like every year for the past at least 4 years I make a drawing a day in the month of October. This year I am trying to keep a cohesive image and we are already in Day 9! InkBlots: A blotted pattern of spilled ink Saturday, June 4th. 1-3:30 p.m. Huntington Free Library 9 Westchester Square, Bronx, NY “InkBlots” give me the freedom to doodle on top of random ink stains, letting my hand draw free over the colors, creating different shapes, faces and monsters. No censure. No regrets. Every mistake will be revamped and will create a work of art. Now I want you to experience, imagine, and create your own inkblots. Use the random stains to stimulate your senses, forget what is right or wrong, everyone can enjoy and make art. This workshop is possible thanks to The Bronx Council on the Arts.

Celebrating the Women's History Month, Women of Ink & Letters (Mujers de Tinta y Letras) will be on display at the 4th floor.
