Since I was a child I liked to draw princesses and say "that is me". When I started Fine Arts I needed models and I was the cheapest and most patient one.
When I started illustrating again it's been a recurrent topic on my illustrations. This one is for the lemondays page, just another excuse to draw myself again!

Desde pequeña dibujaba princesas y decía que era yo. Luego en la facultad y por falta de modelos pacientes empecé a hacer autorretratos.
Cuando volví a retomar la ilustración se convirtió en un tema recurrente en mis trabajos.
Este lo he hecho especialmente para Lemondays... otra excusa para autodibujarme!!

70's and 80's

To continue with the 60's illo I made weeks ago, I'm posting today the Spanish 70's and 80's .
This is the Lemondays topic for this week.

During the 70's Franco died, so Spain was again a democratic country. We had a brand new constitution and I was born!

During the 80's I had my childhood and what I always remember is waiting for "La bola de cristal" every Saturday morning.
I loved La bruja avería and Alaska with her dreadlocks and black long nails.

Both drawings are ink digitally colored.

This drawing is a mixed up Spanish refrain.
Lemondays asked this week to make our own refrain, and I made mine from a sentence an old boss of me used to say.
It would be something like "Better bird in hand ..."

Lemondays is opening a new series of topics. The 60's, 70's, 80's and so on, celebrating the change of decade. Time to remember what happened in our countries, in our lives, in our culture.

I'm going to dedicate this series to the music Spanish people used to listen to those days.
As most of you know, Spain was suffering a dictatorial regimen which didn't allow people to really know what was going on outside Spain. We had our music, our films, our books, everything strictly translated into Spanish.
