I took on the challenge and created a weird three eyed monster face in my iPad. I like how fast I can create just with my fingers on a screen. It's like finger paint for adults. No mess, no clean up, just finger paint! I've been thinking for a while if I should upgrade my iPad or if I should get a Wacom instead... hard decisions. Have a great Labor Day everyone 🙋🏻 Kaylove and I finished the Maylin Reynoso mural before Thanksgiving after a couple of weekends of rain and bad weather. Hopefully soon we can have an unveiling to make sure the community knows why we made it and why it is important to have this mural up outside of The Bronx.
You are cordially invited to:
kNOWing: Recent Works from Coronado Print Studio (2016) 180 East 118 Street 3rd Floor New York, NY Saturday, November 19, 2016 5:30 to 8 p.m. The works represent an awareness of the power of image to engage and inform conversations about identity, self-discovery and personal histories. With skilled techniques and in collaboration the artists encourage each other and the viewer to take a journey of consciousness, challenging notions of reality and dystopia. It made me reflect on the philosophical question: Is kNOWing half the battle? Erin K. This year I had the privilege and luck to be part of Argonaut Resins boot at NY Comic Con. I painted live several pieces and some sold already, but if you missed it you can still get some at his website see them below!!
These are the pieces I customized this year for Argonaut Resins. Mariposa and Dragonfly are already at the NYC Comic-Con and I will join on Sunday painting live some more resin toys.
I can't wait to be there again! It's such a great atmosphere, the people, the costumes, art everywhere... It is a pretty cool experience. If you are going to be there on Sunday, come visit us at booth 404 at The Block. You won't be disappointed :) ![]() Today you can join me for the opening of the exhibition "Ad Astra" at Blick art materials store, 1 Bond Street, Soho, New York. It will start at 6 p.m. and it will go on until 8 p.m. You all know my relationship with space and stars. Going to the roof at night with my father to set up the telescope and find different planets, nebulas and star clusters, was always an adventure. Today I have a couple of [pieces I did as homage to Laika, the first animal sent to space, the first real cosmonaut. This Russian dog died in space, as well as many other animals sent after her before they started sending humans. I am exhausted. It's been an incredible experience to be part of the 2016 chashama Gala. Yesterday I painted over 250 words on a canvas, during 5 hours straight.
This unbelievable event takes place every year in the heart of NYC, 4 Times Square, where more than a hundred artists showcase or perform their art. I had a participatory performance, called Wall of Words, where people was asked to write a word on a paper, words that inspire them, that they feel identify with, or that they didn't like and wanted to get rid of it. It had a great acceptance and everyone was very excited to see their word written on the canvas. I had the most amazing helpers, Natalie and Yolanda, getting words from the attendees and helping me with the crowd management. I couldn't ask for better friends. This year I am part of the Sing for Hope Piano artists again. It will be at Owen Dolen and we have some events celebrating Art, Astronomy and Music. I hope to see you there Friday, June 10th and Friday, June 17th from 8 to 10pm.
What’s Up With The StarsUsing a combination of naked eye and telescopic views we will explain what is visible in the night sky, you will learn how to navigate it and will view select objects through a telescope. Visions of Sound Using astronomically relevant classical pieces of work, a pianist will play said pieces on the Sing For Hope piano while observers learn about the space. Sing For Hope Pianos For two weeks in June, they bring stunningly painted pianos – each a unique piece of art created by a different artist – to New York City’s parks, streets, and public spaces for anyone and everyone to play. The Sing for Hope Pianos inspire community engagement. |
