You don't need any experience in painting to become an artist for one night and have fun in the process. On this night, we I host a painting class so you can learn how to recreate the art piece I created just for this event.
This time bring your partner, best friend or date and create an image using both canvases. You can display them together or separate... whatever your heart tells you!
Ticket includes a FREE drink and all art materials! At the end of the night you will take home your own creation on a canvas! At the Draft House you can order a variety of cocktails, beers and get a taste of their delicious dishes. Come with your partner, your friend, or on your own to meet other great people and network!
This month we have a special treat! During our summer months, adults and children in the community have created designs on the aprons that you will use. It is a way for them to thank you for your financial contribution! You can have this specially designed aprons! You can purchase the apron you will use this evening for only $5!

Noir: Defining the Melodrama
Curator: Juanita Lanzo, Charlie Vázquez & Kimberly Vaquedano-Rose
Noir: Defining the Melodrama presents works by artists inspired by the genre film noir*. Artists in this exhibition revisit, re-imagine, appropriate and respond to iconography in noir that addresses current events, crime, urban life, gender roles, isolation and displacement through drawings, illustrations, painting, photography and video.
Participating artists: Laura Alvarez, Tyrone Brown-Osborne, Carey Clark, Alyssa Clear, Robert De Jesus, Elizabeth Glushko & Steve Pavlovsky, Daniel Hauben, Rasheed Humphrey, Patrick Jewell, Nikki Johnson, Jayson Keeling, Gabrielle Lopez, Jeanette May, Osjua Newton, Gelah Penn, Nestor Perez-Moliere, Jaime Permuth, Ethan Shoshan, Shira Toren, Nitza Tufiño, Dennesa Usher, Boo Lynn Walsh, Joe Wippler, and Michael Young.
*Film noir genre generally refers to mystery and crime drama films produced from the early 1940s to the late 1950s. Movies of this genre were characteristically shot in black and white, and featured stories involving femme fatales, doomed heroes or anti-heroes, and tough, cynical detectives. Other characteristics include low key or artificial lighting, scenes shot at night or under the rain, blurriness and voiced over narrations. The mood in noir films is often pessimistic, implying fear, treason or imminent danger.
Back in September, during the WHEDco weekend walk, BxArts Factory created a fun activity to increase the exposure of the nearby Morning Glory Community Garden. At the same time I engaged the community to help me paint the fence of the garden and beautify the space.
It was a very successful event, many members of the community came, painted and enjoyed the great space they have at the garden, hopefully we encouraged more neighbors to be part of the MGCG and will be enjoying fresh vegetables for their homes.
It's been a hard month but life goes on and we are back with our monthly Paint the Night Away events! This September our design will be a surprise (with flowers involved)!
Friday, September 9th at The Bronx Beer Hall from 7 to 10 p.m.
$35 ticket includes a FREE drink and ALL art materials. At the end of the night you will take home your own creation on a canvas! Buy your tickets here

InkBlots: A blotted pattern of spilled ink
Saturday, June 4th. 1-3:30 p.m.
Huntington Free Library
9 Westchester Square, Bronx, NY
“InkBlots” give me the freedom to doodle on top of random ink stains, letting my hand draw free over the colors, creating different shapes, faces and monsters. No censure. No regrets. Every mistake will be revamped and will create a work of art. Now I want you to experience, imagine, and create your own inkblots. Use the random stains to stimulate your senses, forget what is right or wrong, everyone can enjoy and make art.
This workshop is possible thanks to The Bronx Council on the Arts.
