Last Saturday I had the honor to participate with three of my pieces in the Art For Autism Fundraiser at El Fogon, All proceeds will go to Autism Speaks and Parents Of Autistic Children, two great organizations.
Here you see some of the people who came to support, the group of artist that donated their pieces, and on the right, the little lady that got my artwork during the fundraiser and her with the artwork already hanged up in her room. NYC Parks celebrates the holiday season with its 31st annual exhibition of unique, unconventional wreaths. A diverse selection of 46 fine artists, horticulturalists, designers, and other spirited contributors enliven this ageless holiday symbol. Neck ties, rat traps, acorns, recycled plastic bags and forged steel are among the many and varied materials used to examine themes as diverse as zombie apocalypses and water conservation. This exhibition is sure to be an imaginative and enjoyable experience this year's holiday season. December 7th the exhibition Whimsical Winter Wonder... Lucy Aponte and myself curate this show that will charm and delight the spirit of the child or the child within. Sixteen emerging and established artists interpret a Whimsical Winter Wonder... Last week I was invited to sell at Baron Ambrosia's event at Andrew Freedman Home (1125 Grand Concourse, Bronx, New York 10452) from 6 to 10pm, together with other artists. And I decided that that was the perfect place to sell them all. This will be the world premiere of our film 'Baron Ambrosia is Dead'. This event is free and open to the public. 6:00 PM Market of Mysteries will open (CASH) 7:00 PM Black U.N. UN Concert 7:45 PM Vodou blessing 8:00 PM Film Screening 9:45 PM Grandmaster Mele Mel Concert Outdoor Event. Dress Warm. Bring blankets & beach chairs. Families welcome. As part of the “Not Your Grandma's Quilt” project we initiated earlier this year - a visual art collaboration between YUCA students and artisans in Spain from Art i Més, the quilt has made its way back to the Bronx.
The quilt will be in display this Saturday, October 26th at the Poe Park Visitor Center, from 12 to 3pm. It is located at 2640 Grand Concourse, Bronx, NY. We will be providing the materials to create two large quilts on paper and every one will be able to work on their own square based on Family and Community, same themes used in the original quilt. So come out, create art, and support/celebrate with our youth! There is just one Barnes and Noble store in the Bronx, and yesterday I was invited together with another artists and writers to talk about our culture, our life and show our art.
I had a blast. Friends came by, people was interested in what we had to say, and sharing our culture with others is always enriching and inspiring.

TV was there, many interesting people was there and we all had a great time with the artists panel discussion and the wonderful art exhibited there. Thank you Ray and Regine for inviting me to participate in the show. It was a great day! Last night it was the opening of this exhibition I'm part of, with my picture of the Edgar Allan Poe's Cottage I took this fall while a friend of mine was visiting me. This beautiful house is in a cute park in the Bronx and it's a very recommendable visit. Soho Gallery For Digital Art was hosting this show where we saw pretty amazing photos.
